Liquid Fence 111 Deer and Rabbit Repellent

I read about this stuff repelling rabbits but I didn't think there was any way it could smell as bad as everyone said.
WRONG.
I ordered a bottle and opened it and took a sniff and almost passed out.
Imagine rotten eggs, garbage, B.O., garlic and a host of other nasty smelling things all mixed into one vile concoction. I ordered from Amazon, so I recommend you to buy from Amazon too.

Does it work?
Yes.
The rabbits were eating my burning bush and they stopped right after I sprayed this around.
Well worth the money, nothing will go near this stuff.
Just be careful when spraying.....DOH....I sprayed against the wind and some of it got on my pants leg.....YUCK.

Stinger:
Pros- With mosquito lure, killed lotsa bad insects- BUT!
Cons- Their electric wire grid uses square wires that QUICKLY clog up. Pretty soon it was packed solid & killing nothing!
I had to keep blowing it out ( air compressor) every couple of days- HASSLE!

Flowtron "80!" (took the 40w back!)-
Pros- Killed lots more bugs, because it NEVER clogs up! The electric rods are straight up/down, so no cross wires to catch falling insects & clog. Dead insects fall out the bottom- Blow clean once a month.
Update!-
Forget the pricy attractant! My Flowtron 80w kills mosquitos!- Hundreds of dead ones underneath! My Flowtron 15w didn't do much, but 40w was pretty good (much cheaper bulbs)!
My theory!- Mosquitos are attracted to the heat that is generated when moths... are zapped!
I've watched the mosquitos come as moths are being zapped!- Love the zapping noise (not that loud)!

Cons- The only con is that the outer protective plastic cage HAD bars only about 1/2" apart (same with Stinger)- This kept larger moths... from being able to easily get in to the electric grid. I used a large wire cutter, to cut out every 3d bar, on top 2/3ds of cage. Alternating..., so cut bar was in the middle of two solid bars on adajacent side- Still rigid!

I put it on an outside timer (for when evenings cool down- Not much insect activity below 55 degrees...). Adjust accordingly.

Never hang it near a door, as their is always a 10'+ swarm of insects around it.Try to hang it over head high, in a DRY (electric) area.

Removing the bulbs to clean them WILL cause the socket contacts to fail!- I never did figire out how to thoroughly clean the bulbs (High psi compressor helps, and IS a must!- Vacuum cleaner is too wimpy!)!?

A favorite "good bug" and alternative to chemicals, ladybugs have been a popular part of the Orcon line of beneficial insects for over 20 years. When released at sundown (because they don't fly at night), ladybugs eat aphids, mealy bugs, scale, leaf hoppers, various plant eating worms and other destructive soft bodied pests. Used them to get rid of the aphids on my aerogarden plants in the house. If you release them when the room is dark and the door is shut they make their home on the plants. When it gets light out and you open the doors the next morning they've already settled in on the plants so they don't fly around the house. They got rid of tons of aphids within a few days. Something that I tried to do safely for 2 months with no success.

Update - I had another aphid infestation this year (Mar 2011) on the tomato, parsley and pepper plants I started in our sun room. I again ordered the lady bugs and they did the trick. They arrived healthy and well-packed. When you are using them indoors, release them at night when they are less likely to fly around. I kept the door to the sunroom shut that night and the next day and it gave them enough time to make their homes in the plants. The doors are open now and I've only had a couple of lady bugs go exploring in the rest of the house. They are getting rid of all of the aphids on the plants. All of my plans are looking much healthier already.

Flowtron MA-1000-6 Octenol Mosquito Attractant

No more mosquitoes. (PS 2010--there is now a better attractant that attracts more kinds of mosquito. So this product is perhaps obsolete.)

Can be placed in any type of mosquito killer or catcher. Just place anywhere that the air flows around it. This is the best buy with Amazon free shipping. (Other suppliers will charge shipping for each small package. It adds up.)

This may be smaller than your original cartridges. However, no matter how big a cartridge is, it can not last much longer. It is better to buy the cheapest cartridge and replace it more often. And Flowtron is a name brand, not some unknown manufacturer.

I keep 2 of these cartridges in each mosquito trap, as follows. Twice a month, the oldest cartridge is thrown out, the other is moved to the back, and a new one is placed in the front. In my experience, Octenol may be more significant for catching the mosquitos than CO2, LED lights, UV lights, etc.

NOTE: please hold your breath from the moment you open the package--place your mosquito trap away from where you sit or work--use gloves or be very careful not to touch the chemically infused areas. I doubt that anyone knows the long term risks of octenol. The smell is noticably noxious, sort of like moth balls, and labeled as dangerous.

All in All, Flowtron MA-1000-6 works very well and for me, a person who has the consummate "come hither" scent to mosquito's, to say that is profound ... buy it, use it, it works.
